Real estate prices are going up, but they’re not as high as they used to be.
In 2016, according to a study by the National Association of Realtors, the average real estate price in the US was $2.9 million, up 2.3 percent from last year.
The price is now above $2 million for the first time.
In Canada, the median price is $1.8 million, the highest in five years, according a report by Realtor.com.
The US is now the world’s biggest consumer of real estate.
According to the National Federation of Home Builders, the US sold 2.8 billion homes last year, the most in at least 50 years.
