Real estate developer Donald Trump said Thursday that he will continue to develop the Trump International Hotel & Tower, saying that it is a “great project.”
Trump, who owns a $5.8 billion stake in the property, said in a statement that he “has been working for many years to develop a project that is a great project.”
“The project will be an incredible success,” Trump said.
“I look forward to a long and prosperous future.”
Trump has long been interested in the hotel project, which is located on the outskirts of downtown Detroit.
It would include a hotel, a convention center and restaurants and shops.
He said in August that the hotel would be built on the site of the old Detroit Motor Showground.
